New York could use a boost to its struggling offense, but it doesn't look like Tauchman will be a potential solution any time soon after undergoing knee surgery in late March. He was originally given a six-week recovery timeline, but the 35-year-old outfielder may not be back in the lineup for Triple-A Syracuse until June.

Minter was placed on the 15-day injured list prior to Opening Day while he finished up his recovery from March 2025 surgery on his left lat, and though he experienced no setbacks with that injury once he began pitching in minor-league games in early April, he was pulled off the assignment last week when he experienced left hip discomfort. Given that he's already resumed mound work, Minter seems to be bouncing back nicely from the hip issue. He's expected to throw more bullpen sessions before the Mets consider him for a return to game action, though it's unclear if he'll require another extended minor-league assignment prior to being activated.

Senga appears to have responded well since receiving an epidural to treat his lumbar spine inflammation, which forced him to the injured list April 28. He was able to start throwing again Wednesday, nine days after receiving the injection. Senga has now taken another step forward by getting back on a mound, but he'll still need to face hitters in live batting practice and then likely complete a minor-league rehab assignment before returning from the 15-day injured list. Senga had posted a 9.00 ERA and 1.95 WHIP in five starts prior to landing on the shelf and may not be assured a rotation spot once he's activated.

Polanco landed on the shelf in mid-April due to the wrist injury, but the Achilles issue has been problematic all season. The 32-year-old resumed baseball activities in late April and was viewed as week-to-week at that point, but it's unclear how much the flareup will push back his return timeline.

The 28-year-old was shut down for 7-to-10 days after receiving an injection for a lumbar spine disc herniation in late April, and it's unclear when he'll be able to get back to baseball work. Robert is without a clear timeline for his return but is likely to be out for at least a couple more weeks since he'll need some time to ramp his activity back up.

The deal includes an invitation to major-league spring training. Jacques collected a 6.02 ERA and 61:23 K:BB over 52.1 innings at the Triple-A level in 2025. The left-handed reliever will compete for a bullpen job during spring training.

The transaction frees up a 40-man roster spot for the addition of Bryan Hudson. Garrett underwent UCL reconstruction surgery in October and will miss the entire 2026 season.

Mendoza added that surgery is "on the table" for Kessinger, with a procedure likely to keep the 28-year-old out through the longer end of that timeline. Even if Kessinger is able to avoid surgery, he'll be out of the running for a spot on the Mets' Opening Day roster as a utility infielder.

Herget was designated for assignment by the Mets in late September and became a free agent a few days later. He's now back with the club and will battle for a spot in the team's bullpen during spring training.

A bruised foot caused Burdi to land on the injured list June 3, but a hip injury suffered at Worcester caused him to move to the 60-day IL. He'll now come off the IL following a minimum-length stay, though the Red Sox will keep him in the minors for the time being. The 32-year-old has thrown 5.1 shutout innings for Boston this season and sports a 1.23 ERA through 22 Triple-A frames.

Young reported discomfort in his left knee Tuesday, and further imaging revealed a more severe injury that will result in the 30-year-old undergoing surgery, per Will Sammon of The Athletic. It's a significant blow to the Mets' depth in the outfield, especially with Juan Soto (calf) still on the 10-day IL. Young is be looking at a lengthy absence depending on the extent of the surgery to repair the tear, which could have him sidelined until the summer.

The transaction opens up a spot on the 40-man roster for catcher Ben Rortvedt, whom the Mets claimed off waivers from the Dodgers on Sunday. The move won't affect Nunez's timeline for a return; the 29-year-old right-hander is likely to miss most, if not all, of the 2026 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery July 14.

It's unclear when Hagenman sustained the injury, but his placement on the 60-day IL means that he won't be eligible to make his 2026 regular-season debut until at least late May. In a corresponding move to bolster the bullpen, the Mets claimed southpaw Richard Lovelady off waivers from the Nationals.

New York hasn't issued a timeline for Mauricio's return, but after fracturing his left thumb while diving into first base during Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Angels, the young infielder will be surely miss more than the minimum 10 days. The Mets called up Vidal Brujan to provide another option at shortstop while Mauricio and Francisco Lindor (calf) are on the shelf, but Bo Bichette will start at the position in Sunday's series finale in Anaheim and could end up seeing the bulk of the playing time at that spot in the short term.

Though he was optioned to Salt Lake on Friday, Rojas would have been a candidate to rejoin the Angels after infielder David Fletcher (hip) was placed on the injured list Sunday. However, Rojas' move to Salt Lake's COVID-19 IL will thwart those plans and prompt the Angels to bring Luis Rengifo up from Triple-A. The transaction also simultaneously opens up a spot on the 40-man roster for outfielder Aaron Whitefield, whose contract was selected from Double-A Rocket City.

The move frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for MJ Melendez, who signing became official Thursday. Megill will miss the entire 2026 season following September 2025 Tommy John surgery.

Stock is leaving the door open to possibly pitch again late in the season, but since he had been attending Mets camp on a minor-league deal, he's unlikely to surface in the majors at any point in 2026 even in the event that he moves swiftly through the rehab process. The right-hander first experienced discomfort in his shoulder following his start Tuesday for Team Israel in an exhibition game against the Marlins.

After the three weeks are up, Lindor will have more imaging on his left calf to check his progress. He could resume baseball activities at that point if the Mets are satisfied with the MRI, but Lindor would be ramped back up slowly. It all points to a lengthy absence for the star shortstop, but more will be known about a timeline by mid-May. Ronny Mauricio is filling in at shortstop for the Mets in Lindor's stead.
