Jacob MarkstromOut
Head coach Sheldon Keefe announced Friday that Markstrom will miss the remainder of the regular season to rest and rehab nagging injuries.
More detail
The Devils have been eliminated from postseason contention, and Markstrom will be shut down for the team's final three games of the year due to his lingering injuries. Across 44 appearances during the 2025-26 campaign, Markstrom went 23-19-1 with a 3.07 GAA and .883 save percentage. His ratios were his lowest marks since the 2014-15 campaign, but he'll attempt to bounce back next year, and he remains under contract with the Devils for the 2026-27 season.
Luke HughesOut
Hughes (undisclosed) will undergo a procedure and will miss the remainder of the season, it was announced Thursday.
More detail
The Devils are out of the playoffs and with only four games remaining in the regular season, it was decided that Hughes would have the surgery and get a head start on being ready for training camp in September. Hughes ends the season with six goals and 29 assists, including 13 points on the power play, over 68 appearances in 2025-26, his worst performance in his three-year NHL career. Look for Hughes to have a better 2026-27 campaign, and he could surpass the 50-point mark, if he is able to stay healthy.

Stefan NoesenInjured Reserve
Noesen (knee) has been ruled out for the rest of the season, Kristy Flannery of The Hockey News reports Sunday.
More detail
Noesen had surgery on his knee back in January. There was hope that he might be able to make it back in time to contribute this year, but that possibility has been officially ruled out. The 33-year-old will officially wrap up his 2025-26 campaign with three goals, four assists, 33 penalty minutes, 33 hits and 15 blocked shots in 38 games.
Zack MacEwenInjured Reserve
MacEwen had knee surgery and will be lost for the remainder of the season, Kristy Flannery of The Hockey News reports Saturday.
More detail
MacEwen was injured Nov. 12 and underwent ACL surgery, according to head coach Sheldon Keefe. MacEwen managed six hits and four shots on goal across three appearances for the Devils this season. He should be healthy enough to return for the start of training camp, though he will be an unrestricted free agent come July 1.
