It will be the first time Bautista has throwing off the mound since he underwent right shoulder surgery last August to repair a torn labrum and torn rotator cuff. The Orioles have not ruled out the possibility of Bautista rejoining the bullpen before the end of the season.

Povich was about as sharp as the Orioles could have hoped in his first game action at any level since he landed on the 15-day injured list May 8 due to left elbow inflammation. He faced just one batter over the minimum through 3.1 innings, spotting 34 of his 43 pitches for strikes while inducing five whiffs. The southpaw will likely need at least two more rehab starts to get fully stretched out, but he won't be assured a spot in the Baltimore rotation once he's deemed ready to return from the IL.

Though he was making his first game appearance since landing on the 60-day injured list April 18, Kremer handled a fairly hefty workload right off the bat. He tossed 66 pitches (38 strikes) in the outing, inducing 12 swings and misses along the way. The right-hander may need just one more rehab start to continue building up his pitch count before potentially rejoining the Baltimore rotation in the first week of July.

An errant throw struck Rutschman in the head during Thursday's contest, and he will need some down time as a result of the injury. He will also need to eventually clear concussion protocol before returning to action. With Sam Huff already up providing depth behind the plate, the Orioles will replace Rutschman on the roster with outfielder Michael Siani, who was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk.

Beavers was cleared to begin facing live pitching Monday, and barring a sudden setback, he'll begin testing his strained right oblique in a competitive setting later this week. The 24-year-old outfielder has been sidelined for about a month and will likely require a handful of appearances in the minors before being cleared to return from the IL.

Bassitt was placed on the 15-day injured list June 8 due to low back discomfort, but he now appears to be set to begin to working towards a return to action. The right-hander will likely require at least one bullpen session and potentially a round of live batting practice before he'd begin a minor-league rehab assignment. Bassitt is first eligible to be activated from the IL on June 20, but he seems likely to remain sidelined into July at this point.

Hiraldo has slowly been working his way back from right shoulder inflammation, which has sidelined him since early April. The right-hander resumed throwing off a mound in early June, and Friday's session will be a significant step forward, if he's able to complete the session unscathed. Hiraldo will likely require multiple outings during a minor-league rehab assignment in order to get back up to speed, but he could return to the major-league roster before the end of the month.

Mountcastle has been out of action since April 11 due to a fractured left foot. He is currently on the 60-day IL, and though he's now eligible to return, the 29-year-old isn't expected to be activated until late June or early July. Given that he's now back to running, it sounds like Mountcastle is progressing well toward that timeline.

Noel hasn't played in almost two weeks because of the injury, and he is set to miss additional time. The 24-year-old has been a disaster at Norfolk this season, slashing .121/.217/.243 with three homers and a 30 percent strikeout rate over 120 plate appearances.

Wells landed on the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Norfolk last week, and a decision to have him undergo surgery was subsequently made. It's unclear how long his rehab will take, but Wells almost surely won't be an option for the Orioles before the All-Star break. He holds a 4.50 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 36:11 K:BB across 36 innings at Norfolk this season.

Selby has been out all season with right shoulder inflammation and seems to have made little-to-no progress. He is still in the process of discussing treatment options, but it's unclear whether surgery is being considered. Selby held a 3.21 ERA and 14:2 K:BB over 14 innings out of the Orioles' bullpen in 2025.

Westburg's procedure will keep him out for the remainder of the 2026 campaign, but general manager Mike Elias said Friday that the 27-year-old infielder has a good chance to return to playing in the field full-time by early 2027. Until then, Coby Mayo will likely take over as Baltimore's primary third baseman, though Jeremiah Jackson, Blaze Alexander and Weston Wilson are also candidates to make an occasional start at the hot corner.

The Orioles moved Eflin to the 60-day injured list Tuesday after he received a second opinion on his injured elbow, and he'll now be out until midway through the 2027 campaign after going under the knife. The 32-year-old righty will finish 2026 having made just 15 starts over the past two seasons, during which he's posted a 5.76 ERA and 1.43 WHIP over 75 innings.

Robertson logged 75 plate appearances in the big leagues last season between stops with the Blue Jays and White Sox, but after being claimed off waivers by the Orioles over the winter and later outrighted off the 40-man roster, he never appeared to be a strong candidate to break camp with Baltimore. He's slated to serve as organizational outfield depth at Triple-A Norfolk in 2026.
