The unspecified illness will end Pintaro's campaign, opening the door for Jefry Yan to return to the active roster for the final day of the season. Pintaro made 22 appearances out of the Mets' bullpen in 2026, posting a 5.28 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 30:16 K:BB with three holds in 30.2 innings.

Scott might have pitched through the injury if the Mets were still in playoff contention. However, it makes sense to go ahead and shut him down given that he's at 123.2 innings in 2026 between the majors and minors after not pitching at all in 2025 following Tommy John surgery. Scott flashed plenty of promise with the Mets this season, authoring a 3.85 ERA and 134:47 K:BB over 110 innings covering 23 starts.

Young's season is over after he had to be taken off the field on a stretcher in Thursday's game versus the Phillies after taking a knee to the head on a play at first base. He is dealing with concussion symptoms including short-term memory loss and bad headaches, but interim manager Andy Green said that Young is doing "as good as expected or could be hoped for."

The injury ends what has been a terrific season out of the Mets' bullpen this season, as he holds a 2.12 ERA, 0.81 WHIP and 30:7 K:BB over 29.2 innings. Duarte is under team control for several more years and has set himself up well to be part of the Mets' bullpen in 2027.

Stock had been slated to start Wednesday's game versus the Orioles, but instead his season is over. The 36-year-old will finish the season with a 5.93 ERA and 29:15 K:BB over 30.1 innings covering seven starts and one relief appearance for the Mets. Xzavion Curry will start Wednesday in Stock's place.

The transaction clears a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of Chris Devenski. Polanco had previously been ruled out for the season when it was decided earlier this month that he'd have surgery on his left ankle.

The transaction frees up a 40-man roster spot for the addition of Bryan Hudson. Garrett underwent UCL reconstruction surgery in October and will miss the entire 2026 season.

Waldron has pitched 5.2 shutout innings since joining the Nationals in late August, but the team will now be without his services until at least Sept. 20 as he manages his chest injury. Zak Kent will come up from Triple-A Rochester to replenish Washington's reliever depth.

Millas had a procedure in July when he first suffered the injury, but he'll undergo another one Friday because the finger didn't heal as hoped. It will be the third surgery the catcher has had on the finger since last August. There's no word on a timeline for Millas' rehab, but he should be healed well before spring training.

Ribalta landed on the injured list Monday with forearm inflammation, but the results of his tests confirmed that he isn't dealing with a structural issue. The Nationals will now shift their focus to making sure the 28-year-old gets enough time to rest and recover, and with the team well outside of the hunt for a postseason berth, there's no guarantee he pitches again this season.

Poulin had been on the shelf since July 19 due to a left flexor strain, and his move to the 60-day IL ensures that he'll remain out through Sept. 13. The southpaw's move to the 60-day frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for one of Yovanny Cruz and Jake Bird, two of the four players the Nationals acquired Sunday in the deal that sent Luis Garcia to the Yankees.

Parker moved to the 60-day IL at the start of the month after being diagnosed with a Grade 3 UCL sprain, and the procedure will officially keep him out for the remainder of 2026 and most, if not all, of the 2027 campaign, as well.

Waldichuk posted a 6.75 ERA and 1.50 WHIP in 9.1 innings over his five relief appearances with Washington before landing on the injured list April 13 after suffering a left forearm injury. The southpaw received a couple of medical opinions in the week following the injury and ultimately decided to undergo Tommy John surgery for the second time in just under two years, after he previously had the procedure in May 2024. Waldichuk also underwent a flexor tendon repair as part of the operation.
