Pederson suffered a small fracture in his left hand when he was hit by a pitch Saturday. He hasn't played since then, but the Rangers are facing a righty in Sonny Gray for the first time during that span. Pederson is aiming to play through the injury, but clearly he's not feeling well enough to do so just yet. Josh Jung is slotting in at designated hitter for Texas on Thursday.

The Red Sox were hardly fooled by Gore on Wednesday, as the hurler induced a mere two whiffs on the evening. The southpaw appears to be losing his effectiveness quite a bit down the stretch, fanning four or fewer in five consecutive starts while yielding at least three runs in three straight abbreviated outings. He'll look to right the ship when he carries a 4.67 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 172:69 K:BB over 165.2 innings into his next scheduled appearance against the Mets.

Helman has been out since mid-June with multiple fractures in his right hand, but he's ready to play in games again after three months of rehab. It's not a given that Helman will be reinstated to the Rangers' active roster once the club deems him physically ready.

Leiter experienced biceps soreness during a recent rehab outing, which prompted to the Rangers to put a halt on the rehab assignment. After being shut down for a few days, the right-hander his now headed to the team's training facility to resume throwing.

Higashioka began a rehab assignment with the Express, and per Kennedi Landry of MLB.com, the Rangers plan to have him hit only for the time being. When/if he returns to the team, Higashioka will serve as a bench bat.

Winn hadn't pitched since Tuesday, when he allowed two runs on five hits over 1.1 innings in a relief appearance against the White Sox. The Rangers haven't revealed the severity of Winn's strain, but he won't be eligible for activation until at least Sept. 12 as a result of the transaction. Texas recalled right-hander Ben Peoples from Triple-A Round Rock to replace Winn in the bullpen.

The 31-year-old has struggled over his last 15 appearances out of the Texas bullpen, registering a 5.17 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 16:4 K:BB through 15.2 innings. The Rangers recalled Robby Ahlstrom from Triple-A Round Rock to replace Gray in the bullpen and on the 26-man active roster.

Baumler recently completed throwing sessions at the team's training facility in Arizona. The Rangers want to see him progress to throwing on back-to-back days and multiple innings before activating him.

Corniell gave up five earned runs in just one inning out of the bullpen during Monday's game against the White Sox, and he'll now have to remain on the sidelines until at least Aug. 5 due to his latest injury. The severity of his injury remains unknown, though it's worth noting that the 23-year-old righty underwent Tommy John surgery back in 2024. Marco Gonzales was promoted from Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding move.

It was announced July 4 that Beeks would miss the rest of the 2026 season due to requiring season-ending surgery to repair a flexor tendon in his left forearm. The status of the surgery is yet to be revealed, which still makes his timeline for getting back to full strength unclear.

It is yet to be known the results of Larnach's MRI. The 29-year-old been dealing with left wrist soreness that has kept him out since Sept. 14. Thursday will be his fourth consecutive game missed. While he remains out, Emmanuel Rodriguez, Walker Jenkins and Luke Keaschall are starting in the outfield Thursday.

Culpepper tweaked his hamstring while running out a double play in Tuesday's loss to the Yankees. The strain is considered mild, giving Culpepper a chance to return for the final two games of the regular season, per Dan Hayes of The Athletic. Ben Ross is starting at shortstop for the Twins on Wednesday, and he could share the position with Ryan Kreidler while Culpepper is shelved.

Buxton has been on the 10-day injured list since late August with a hip injury that's bothered him off-and-on throughout the 2026 campaign. It's good news that the surgery is arthroscopic, as that should give Buxton plenty of time to recover before spring training. Buxton will finish this season with a .254/.319/.511 batting line with 25 home runs and seven stolen bases over 93 games. With Buxton officially done for the season, Walker Jenkins will continue to man center field for Minnesota.

Shortly after his initial placement on the IL, Paredes was diagnosed with a Grade 2 left oblique strain, per MLB.com. After shifting to the 60-day IL to clear a 40-man roster spot for the newly acquired Dean Kremer, Paredes won't be eligible to rejoin Minnesota until Sept. 21.

Sands has battled elbow problems throughout the 2026 season and landed back on the 15-day injured list Tuesday. He has opted for season-ending surgery to repair the issue but expects to have a "pretty much normal" offseason after getting a PRP injection post-op. Sands allowed 11 runs with an 11:5 K:BB over 12 innings for the Twins this season. The 29-year-old has two more years of arbitration eligibility remaining.

Festa will undergo an arthroscopic procedure on his right shoulder to address his impingement, and he will also receive a second operation on his pectoral muscle to address neurogenic thoracic outlet syndrome symptoms. The two surgeries will ensure that he misses the remainder of the season, though it's unclear whether his absence will extend into the 2027 campaign.

Abel was placed on the shelf April 20 due to right elbow inflammation and appeared to be on the cusp of a return in late June before suffering a setback and ultimately requiring arthroscopic surgery July 1. Given that he won't even be cleared to throw until he's re-evaluated and will required an extended ramp-up period, Abel appears likely to remain out until the end of the regular season Sept. 27. Even if Abel avoids any further snags when he's eventually cleared to throw and makes it back from the injured list before the end of the season, he won't have enough time to get built back up as a starter and will be ticketed for a relief role.

Banda last pitched June 28 and was placed on the 15-day injured list 11 days ago. He expects to be ready for the start of spring training in February. The lefty reliever appeared in 39 games out of the bullpen for Minnesota this season and registered a 4.46 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 33:15 K:BB across 34.1 innings.

Lopez underwent an internal brace procedure Wednesday — rather than a full Tommy John surgery — to shorten his recovery process, but he will still be forced to miss the entire 2026 season. His move to the 60-day IL will create a spot on the 40-man roster for Zak Kent, who was claimed off waivers from the Cardinals on Thursday.
